List of India’s Top 5 Selling Cars for January 2023:
The Indian automobile industry got a booming start to the year, with multiple cars selling more than 10,000 units in January 2023. Like always, Maruti Suzuki took the top share with seven of its cars reaching the top ten, while the remaining three spots were grabbed by two Tata cars and one Hyundai car. Here is the list of top 5 selling cars of India for the month of January 2023.

Maruti Suzuki Alto:
Maruti Suzuki Alto not only did the popular re-enter the list, it won the race by selling 21,411 units in January 2023. This is a 73 percent growth over 12,342 units sold during the same month last year. . Both the models, Alto 800 and Alto K10 come with an optional factory-fitted CNG kit elevating their pocket-friendliness.
2)Maruti Suzuki Wagon R:
From 10th spot in December 2022 to 2nd spot in January 2023, the Maruti Wagon R has impressively climbed its way up. Selling 20,466 units in January 2023, the Maruti Wagon R saw an uptick of 1 percent over its sales in January 2022. Maruti Wagon R is equipped with two petrol units: a 1-litre petrol engine and 1.2-litre petrol engine. The 1-litre engine is also available with a CNG Kit, and the popular hatchback delivers a mileage of 25.19 km/l from petrol and 34.05 km/kg from CNG.
3)Maruti Suzuki Swift:
With the sales of 16,440 units, the Maruti Swift retained its position as the third best-selling car in January 2023. While this is a 14 percent decline from its performance in the same month in 2022, the popular hatchback comfortably made it to the top 5. The Maruti Swift is the most spacious 5-seater in its segment and its 1.2-litre DualJet petrol engine delivers a mileage of 22.38 km from petrol and 30.90 km/kg from CNG. It offers great value for money package.
4)Maruti Suzuki Baleno:
Selling 16,357 units in January 2023, the Maruti Baleno saw a staggering 141 percent growth over its performance during the same month in 2022. The launch of the CNG-powered Maruti Baleno last year, has played a key role in this exponential growth. Moreover, the popular Maruti car is in its second generation, and its improved safety and host of premium features are proving to be strong volume pullers.
5)Tata Nexon:
The Tata Nexon once again became the best-selling compact SUV, selling 15,567 units in January 2023. Recording a 13 percent growth over its sales during the same period in 2022, the Tata Nexon is the last car among the top 5. The Indian compact SUV has been a grand success since day one and is one of the safest cars in India. The Tata Nexon also benefits from being available in petrol, diesel, and electric-powered forms.
